Curly eastern black walnut guitar set, irregularly shaped backs about 8.3 wide at lower bout, 20.6 long, sanded to approximately 0.180 thick Sides, 31.8 long , 4.9 to 4.6 wide sanded to approximately. Air dried 4 years, very fine quality. Very dark colors, nice figure..

Pics are wetted with mineral spirits. SIdes have some checking that limits their useful length to about 31.9. These backs have some ribbony effect to the grain. That is too say, a lot of the variation in color that is visible in the large stripes to center of the backs is really the result of more end grain being visible here rather than an actual color variation in the wood.

You don't see this too often in walnut(reminiscent of like you would find in honduran'hog), but I have seen it occasionally over the years. The edges have not been jointed, I have left them as large as possible.
