LS220S is a high-end model with a mahogany body, maple top, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard with lacquer coating. Deep joints are used in the original Burst models from the 1950s and 1960s, as well as the current Gibson Custom Shop. Glue is used for adhesion, and as it is a natural adhesive, it is suitable for adhering musical instruments and is expected to improve acoustic performance. Tokai Musical Instruments, which emphasizes quality, uses that glue. By applying it to the parts that are involved in the sound, such as the adhesion between the neck, fingerboard, and body, the sustain will be improved and the sound will be richer.

Lacquer is used for painting, and the coating is thinner than urethane painting, making it possible to output while taking advantage of the natural sound of wood.
